Build sustainably - live sustainably ‘Homes for Good’ exhibition 2007

The only exhibition dedicated solely to eco-building and eco-living, ‘Homes for Good’ 2007 will take place on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th February (10am – 4pm), at The Winter Gardens, Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset.

‘Homes for Good’ is designed to attract both consumers interested in renovating, decorating and DIY projects, and trade professionals looking to adopt or improve on their sustainable building methods.

Corina Reay, ‘Homes for Good’ Coordinator, comments: “As the need for environmental awareness grows, the demand for information escalates. ‘Homes for Good’ provides increasing numbers of visitors with practical solutions and ways of changing their lifestyles at home or at work. Our aim is to bring expertise, experience and innovative products together under one roof, in a relaxed and interactive setting to give people a better understanding of what is available to them.”

Now in its fourth year, ‘Homes for Good’ is growing year on year. The exhibition attracts thousands of visitors and a wide variety of businesses, launching new products and giving demonstrations and training. To cope with this demand, the new venue has greater capacity and is easily accessible.

Corina continues: “As fuel prices rise, homeowners are seeing their household bills increase, and they want to find a solution. ‘Homes for Good’ is about choosing products and services that have a longer life, lower running costs and are an investment for the future - not only in money terms, but also in terms of health and the environment. Experts at the exhibition will be on hand to answer questions about sustainability and show how with simple changes sustainable living can become a reality.”

Results of a survey carried out after ‘Homes for Good’ 2006 showed that 74% of people that filled in the questionnaire rated the exhibition as either ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’, and all contributors to the survey left the exhibition intending to take steps to save energy, install renewable energy devices, or increase home waste recycling.
